    Pioneer Savage Family
    August 1971

Descendants of George and Georgetta Savage, pioneers of the Birdsview area in 1878, gathered at the site of the original homestead on the banks of the Skagit River last Sunday for a picnic and reunion. During the day the old family Bible was brought out and the birth and death record was read by Donna Hansen, a great-granddaughter of the pioneer couple. Only one of the three surviving Savage children was able to be present, Katy Savage Pulsipher of Birdsview. Those attending the reunion include in the back row:
Henry Savage, John Thompson, Diana Drake, Lynne Thompson, Phil Savage, Joyce Savage, Marvin Scharff and Albert Johnson. In the second row are Stella Savage, Katy Pulsipher, Dorothy Drake, Florence Hathaway, Janice Johnson, Irene Scarff, Cheryl Jasper, Donna Hansen, Karen Hansen, Don Hansen and Barb Thompson. In the front row are: George Savage, Warren Savage, Zola Pulsipher, Jennifer Ann Jasper, Jennifer Sue Savage, Evelyn Jasper, Dave Jasper, John O. Thompson, Lyle Hansen, and Eric Hansen. Others attending but not pictured include Charles Savage and daughter Rozel, Leon Drake, Joe and Delores Savage and children and a number of family friends.
