Local historian Noel Bourasaw is collecting family stories and copying photos, documents and memorabilia for From Bug to the Bughouse, the first 50 years of Sedro-Woolley and the Upper Skagit River. We are planning to structure the book so that it commemorates and updates a century later the famous 1906 Illustrated History of Skagit and Snohomish Counties, the first and best of all the regional histories. That original book included an extensive addendum of family trees and profiles. We want to honor those families and others whose descendants are living here or who have moved away. Please inquire how your family can be memorialized. Other researchers are also consulted for their areas of expertise throughout the county and the Pacific Northwest.
All the research for this book has been sorted in a computer data base. Several local businesses and individuals have contracted with us to research the history of their firm or family. We can easily extract the information and present it to you on both disc and hard copy, along with photographs that we have discovered. Or we can search for more information from documents you may already have. We have now prepared three such mini-books for pioneer families.
If you would like that as a present for someone in your family or as a company history, just drop a note to the email below. We also contract with local companies for computer, web and administrative projects. We also provide a service for families who inherit historic material and need to identify it..
We want to generate enough income to pay for publishing the book and establishing a permanent company here in our home in Skagit county — God's Country. We very much need the financial support of those who are interested in learning about and preserving our local history in order to continue this expensive and labor-intensive free collection of rare photos and essays. See how to contact us in the panel below. We have begun featuring creative advertising panels from local businesses along with web businesses that will help you learn more about history and genealogy. The ads will rotate each month from page to page to give the advertiser ultimate exposure. We want to emphasize that:
