Skagit River Journal: the main source
for history of the valley from Sound to Cascades
and an opportunity for low-cost, targeted advertising

Join our select advertisers today
      We have introduced a small advertising section that tells readers about how and where they can find the best of Sedro-Woolley, where they can shop and eat while visiting and how they can order items that say Sedro-Woolley. We need the income from this section to support our whole project. Our small group of advertisers with a historical message are featured on every page. Do you have a story to tell about your business, project or building?
      We work with local government agencies, chambers and museums to encourage interest in history. We also help students and genealogists learn more about local history by aiding their research and presenting seminars to local classes and groups. So far, we have helped connect descendants from nearly 200 local families after they read our site. We have received awards from agencies that rate history sites, including the WashingtonSuite, which granted us their highest ratings of five stars and we linked from www.historylink.org, the largest history web site in the state. All major search engines refer to our pages, and government and tourist agencies all refer readers and visitors to us. Most recently, we have started our "Giving Back to the Community" project by providing copies of our stories and photos to libraries and museums.
      Advertisers that want to feature locally oriented products and services or who want to support our project will find the rates very reasonable. We will design the ad for you, write short profile of your business and include either a scanned historical photo or a photo of your business. You can then link to that page in your advertising.

We are launching similar pages like the Sedro-Woolley portal page for the western county and for the upriver region. Email us and we'll explain how your ad can appear on those pages.
You can click the donation button to contribute to the upkeep of this site at a time when we may be forced to cut it back for lack of funds. You can also subscribe to our optional Subscribers-Paid Journal magazine online, which is about to enter its sixth year with exclusive stories, in-depth research and photos that are shared with our subscribers first.
